Bresi-Ando consults was born out of the full and varied communications and PR career of Simone Bresi-Ando.
Simone Bresi-Ando is a global communications and PR expert and was dubbed by the UKs ‘Stylist Magazine’ as one of the UKs ‘25 most successful business women‘. With 15 years’ worth of experience in communications, events and PR on a national and international level within the public and private sectors, she has turned her attentions to giving a holistic approach to brand positioning, communications, events and PR through her small but impactful and delivery focussed consultancy; Bresi-Ando consults.
After studying Communications, Culture and Media at university; her first job was as the personal secretary to the then Deputy Prime Minister; the Rt Hon. John Prescott. This gave her a first-hand insight into the mechanics of running a country and how news was made at a national level. At the same time, Simone started her culturally significant PR and events outfit; PUSH which led her to work with Grammy award winners, Estelle and Floetry as well as 2004 Mercury Music Prize nominee; Ty.
Within seven years she had worked her way up from various corporate communication roles in the public sector to the role of global corporate PR manager for Sony Ericsson – aged just 27! Within this role, Simone managed their corporate profile and their global sports sponsorship, women’s tennis.
Simone quickly turned a sport with niche appeal to an activity where switched-on, savvy, youthful Sony Ericsson consumers became engaged with the sport and its stars. Her use of global celebrities and musicians all helped to bring the sport to a new audience and increase global press coverage, year-on-year. Her 2009 PR stunt; ‘Traffic Tennis’ stopped the traffic on Ocean Drive, Miami so Venus Williams and Andy Murray could play Tennis on top of two cars. She followed up in 2010 with ‘Glam.Set.Match’ where pop stars Mel B (Spice Girls) and Jay Sean paired up with tennis players; Novak Djokovic and Ana Ivanovic to play an exhibition match for fans.
It was a natural step for Simone to create her own PR offering and in 2011; Bresi-Ando consults, a global boutique PR consultancy was born. In its short existence, she has been able to grow an impressive client base, ranging from fashion – Helen Jennings – New African Fashion book, arts and culture – Eva Caridi’s ‘Nude’, Simon Frederick’s ‘My mates at work’, BP’s ‘The Olympic Journey‘ for the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Southbank Centre‘s Africa Utopia festival and the Royal African Society festival Film Africa 2012. More recently, the consultancy’s clients have included the Olympic Village, MOBO Awards 2013 and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
Simone is an accomplished public speaker, social commentator and female empowerment activist. In 2009, she founded the social enterprise, I’mPOSSIBLE Global CIC, a network with a global reach that educates and empowers women and girls of colour. Simone has managed to get global brands such as L’Oreal’s Mizani, Pearson plc, Ernst & Young and Deutsche Bank as sponsors and partners for the various activities the organisation carries out. For her outstanding work promoting the rights of women and girls, Simone was given the Leadership Award by Women: Inspiration and Enterprise where she now joins a long list of prestigious recipients such as Queen Rania of Jordan and Princeton Professor, Anne-Marie Slaughter. In 2013, Black Girls Rock! gave Simone a TV salute for her work empowering and highlighting the achievements of women of colour.
